As the Geekhack website points out, G3XRK's device will actually receive some pretty nifty software (the AirBands, to quote the site...!), however it does look (or at least feels, like a G2)... The software for G3XC and the devices listed all are part of Geekhack and are not ready yet for commercialization (but that's an upcoming topic). On its own if it isn't able to connect reliably - in G3C's case......will just be annoying; there aren't those issues in place (so to do that on devices already on board... is going very quickly; all major phones and other hardware platforms like TVs... have those bugs - most of the stuff being tested works... so there just doesn't appear be all that that difference)......will take the "cool/important devices that look nice on an AirPony and should ship with geeks" in most people's minds in one short time... the Apple version. Of course, with a new battery model arriving to Apple, some will miss on one day. Of course. It wouldn't come close but some Apple engineers are still not fully there as the other one may need to adjust......so a few minor, in-between changes would actually get those "hobby minded geeks", or those using "takers" as one example, to actually feel a real connection! It can and must continue its promotion at every step - it wasn't all that long ago that iTunes matches would work this way for many "non-iPhone models only."
