Cusack noted their friend had taken himself offline because of treatment problems but was planning to open an art studio for anyone feeling the pain too.
The show ran Monday through Sunday and aired nationally to more than 50 million people each season. Its broadcast had the highest ratings this year for anything on network TV in five years and exceeded even that of HBO's miniseries Girls.
